Hours of Operation

Mondays through Fridays

Our teachers and staff are committed to helping children grow, develop and to realize their full potential.  Our goal is to provide programs and activities that will enable each child to develop at his or her own pace, according to his or her own special interest, learning style, and personality.

The quality of the staff is an important determinant in the quality of the program.  Saint Vincent Ferrer Church Child Care Center strives to maintain a high quality staff by providing a variety of in-services and other professional opportunities.  At a minimum, state qualifications are met.

All staff members working with children are required to submit to a state police check and have a physician’s health form on file.  Fully qualified teachers meet or exceed state licensing requirements in education and experience.  Our staff is trained regularly in CPR and First Aid.

Philosophy

The Saint Vincent Child Care Center is unique in its approach to providing quality care for all children between the ages of 3 and 10.  The center’s philosophy flows from three basic beliefs which govern its programming.

1) Children should be allowed to be children.  We expect a three-year old to be three, and a four year old to be four, without the pressure to prepare for the next age or developmental stage.

2) Children learn best from each other, and they need to explore safely and experiment with their environment.

3) Each child brings to the program his or her unique cultural background.

We strive to incorporate these characteristics into the child’s daily program.

The school year program is in operation from September through June, Monday through Friday, from 6:30am to 6:00pm.  During the summer program (July and August), the Center is open from 6:30am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Program Services for Children

 ages 3 through 10

Preschool: A part-time morning program is available for three, four, or five mornings a week, between the hours of 9:00am and 1:00pm.  The full-time preschool program is available five days a week throughout the school year.

Extended Day Kindergarten / School Age:  A before and after program is offered during the school year for children attending the local public and parochial schools.  Parents must provide transportation to the Center each morning and home in the evenings.  To meet the needs of working parents, this program will remain opened a full day on holidays and during school vacations on a sign-up basis.

For more information on our program and Center, please call us and come visit.  You are most welcome!
