Enrollment
To be enrolled in the Religious Education Program at Saint Vincent Ferrer Church, you must be a registered and
active parishioner, and supporting the parish as best as you can through
the Offertory envelope system. This
system is the only way we have of knowing if you are regularly worshipping
with us. (This is important when
requesting Sponsor Certificates when you are asked to be a godparent for
Baptism or sponsor for Confirmation).
Families who have inconsistent attendance patterns at Mass are
considered to be inactive members and consequently are placed on a waiting
list for the CCD Program. Classes
fill up rapidly and we have an obligation to accommodate those parishioners
who actively participate in the life of the parish through Sunday Mass
attendance and financial support all year round, including summertime. It’s only fair.
To assist the CCD Office, please enter your envelope
number in the appropriate place on the registration form. Your weekly contribution to the parish
allows us to keep the cost of religious education at a minimum. The fees listed below do not cover all
the costs of the entire Religious Education program. This is why everyone’s weekly
contribution is important. If you
need to register and/or receive envelopes, please contact Diane in the Church
Office.
Regardless of past enrollment in the CCD Program, no
student is automatically pre-registered. We take nothing for granted. You must register for the CCD Program
each year.
Most support this beautiful parish regularly and I am
grateful to you. Books and supplies
are expensive; the education of our children is an investment in their
future as faithful Catholics and good citizens of our country. The fees for this year are:
One child $60
Two Children
$100
Three or more $125
Kindergarten
is $35 and is held during the Liturgy of the Word at the 10:30am Mass.
We must order books and supplies by mid-August so that
everything is ready when we begin in September. When registrations are late, books are
ordered late, are not here when the program begins, and your children do
not have what they need to begin their studies. From the start, they already fall
behind. So please register by August
15.
Junior High (grades 7 & 8) and High School
Confirmation (grades 9 & 10) are separate academic programs and have
separate registrations. Call the
CCD Office @ 723-0782.
We are blessed to have a dedicated and experienced
Director of Religious Education, Stephen Kenny who is ably assisted by a
group of enthusiastic, faithful, and volunteer catechists. They do not get paid for their efforts;
they teach because they love the Lord, His children, and this parish. Please support them in every way you can
in making sure homework assignments are completed on time, and in good
order.
A special thanks to all who made last year’s program
such a success. I was so impressed
with the good will and academic performance of the students. Many classes participated in various
charitable fund-raisers that benefited several worthy organizations. I was so proud to be associated with your
kids! Plans for the coming year have
only just begun and Mr. Kenny and I look forward to working with you and
your children.
Sincerely
yours in Christ the Lord,
Reverend
Father
